Provenance Rentals' 2021 Year-In-Review

Photo by Christine Doneé | Featured on Style me Pretty

Can’t believe 2021 is already drawing to a close. All thanks to our wonderful customers, hard-working staff, family, friends, and supports, Provenance Rentals completed its most successful year on the books. Please read below about the milestones we achieved in our come-back year, and why we are so grateful!

Slow Start, Strong Finish

Unsure of where we were headed, 2021 started slowly with Covid-19 cases on the rise spilling over from 2020. It was ostensibly glum in the beginning, but Provenance Rentals persevered. Small businesses, including Provenance Rentals, suffered and struggled with continued lockdowns, surging case numbers, children shepherded to Zoom-school once again, and more, but we clawed our way back. We are so lucky and grateful for our customers that valued creating unique, beautiful events. Customer who are drawn to quality over quantity — that helped rescue us.

A noticeable shift occurred from large-scale events catering to the masses to more intimate, beautiful gatherings. Things started picking up again in February, and we haven’t looked back. People craved creating vignettes that were special and memorable. The praise we most often hear is that the rentals were the best part, everyone loved them, and they made the event. This year our clients hired our specialty event rentals for birthday parties, weddings, celebrity weddings, film industry productions, investor meetings, music videos, corporate events, elopements, engagements, naming ceremonies, movie nights, big brand events, influencer events, friendsgiving, girls’ night out, baby & bridal showers, and so much more. We truly had our best, and most diverse, year yet.

Prop House Rentals for Film, Television, Fashion, and Music Industries

We love all our customers, but it is always so exciting when we see our rentals on television, movies, online, in print magazine, music videos and more. Read about some of our notable industry experiences from 2021.

Farmer’s Dog - Television Commercial

Our new Antoinette White Velvet Dining Chairs have been an instant fan-favorite. They will be in a Farmer’s Dog commercial soon.

Entenmenn’s - Television Commercial

Our Cotton Candy Mauve Velvet Armchairs will be featured in an upcoming commercial for Entenmenn’s pastries, which is filming in December.

Alice + Olivia - Photoshoots

We continued working with one of our loyal customers, Alice + Olivia. This New York-based fashion company designs some of the most drop-dead gorgeous dresses and women’s clothing. Our specialty rentals align very well with their brand, especially since they keep coming back. They love our vintage pieces, as well as our mid-century modern ones. In their photoshoots, our beautiful velvet sofas and chairs are often in a serene Malibu garden overlooking the Pacific where gorgeous young women show off the most feminine outfits.

Vanderpump Rules on Bravo

Perhaps one of the highlights of the year! Our rentals recently appeared on an episode of Vanderpump Rules on Bravo. In Season 9, Episode 10, Rokkbox threw an elegant, chic, and youthful tea-party party for Raquel in a beautiful Beverly Hills park. Along with gorgeous Rokkbox products, our stunning rentals transported the viewers into the prettiest of parties. The cast sat at our Emmmerson Turned Leg Farm Table paired with Sag Harbor Brass Dining Chairs. The most Instagrammable moment was the stunning backdrop of our Blanc Double French Doors. Rokkbox created floral hangings to dress up the doors in the most unique way. The cast, dressed in tea-party attire, all loved snapping selfies in front of it. Be sure to check out the episode and if you love these specialty rentals, we can always help you recreate a romantic, dreamy party just like Raquel.

Better Things on Hulu

Don’t forget to check out Better Things on Hulu. In its fifth and final season, you will see our rentals in Episode 10 — set to air in January 2022. We don’t want to give away too much, but here is a sneak peek from the set. We loved working with Minim Productions. It was another one of the highlights of the year. We are sad to see the show wrap up.

Cravings by Chrissy Teigen

We worked with some amazing prop and food stylists for Cravings by Chrissy Teigen. You can see our one-of-a-kind, Hudson Rustic Low Farm Tables in her shoot and on her Instagram as well as on her shop page for the bowls & plates. Psst — it’s in our Press highlights reel as well.

We always love working with Film & TV professionals. If you would like to open an account with us, you can do so by visiting our Prop House webpage. Also, we would like to put it out there to the creators of Succession on HBO — we would love to work with you and the cast! Or, anyone photographing them, let us know.

There will be more projects to share, once we get the green-light things are live. Until then, please continue to check back and we promise to update our blog on a more consistent basis. Also, we often post fun things Provenance Rentals is doing on our Instagram.

Philanthropy

Something very near & dear to our hearts is our ability to give back to the community, especially the more local the better. Provenance Rentals is so excited about being in a position to help others. We also make a concerted effort to weave philanthropy and giving back into our core values. It was especially important for us as a company to select a worthy organization. This year, we chose to pledge a monthly donation to Richstone Family Center. Richstone is a wonderful organization, located in Hawthorne in the South Bay, dedicated to helping at-risk youths and families of abuse and trauma. Their programs focus on strengthening and educating families, and preventing violence in families, schools, and communities. Being that we all have families at Provenance Rentals, we wanted to help other families and children in need. Please check out this awesome organization and get involved. You can feel good that every time you rent with us, you are also helping someone in need.

We also donated to Temple Shalom of South Bay — it is a fantastic organization dedicated to serving the Jewish community. Be sure to check out these wonderful organizations. If you have a charitable organization, we may be interested in helping you in some way, or in the future. Please do not be afraid to contact us.

New Inventory & Reach

2021 was a time to take risks, and we are glad we did. We expanded our beautiful and unique inventory to include some truly special items that make your event stand out. We shipped a container of items from overseas as well as picked up some unique finds along the way. Check out our newest additions below:

Not only was it exciting to expand our collection, we expanded our reach. Don’t be afraid to contact Provenance Rentals even if your event is outside of LA County. We will travel anywhere a truck can venture. This year we reached San Diego, along with Orange and Ventura counties. We are always up for an adventure if you love our collection.

All of our success and accomplishments could not be achieved without our loyal and awesome customers, friends, families, staff, and supporters. Our boutique business was built and maintained because of our customers’ orders. We almost perished with the 2020 shut-downs, but survived because customers came back to us when they could. And now, we only thrive because of you. For that we say thank you for the best year yet! We cannot wait to see what 2022 holds, so we count our blessings and look to the future with hearts full of joy and minds full of gratitude and positivity.
