Industrial meets romance wedding inspiration with vintage furniture and prop rentals.Read More
We are gushing over this outdoor rustic romantic styled shoot. The talented photographer, Mark Martinez, inexplicably captures ethereal beauty and innocence in subjects and in objects. The hair and makeup artist extraordinaire, Tay Robinson of C.A.S. Experience, coordinated the project drawing from an accomplished pool of creatives including: spot-on videography by SJ Videography; cream-colored whimsical gowns tailored by Deborah Lindquist; stunning florals by Pure Serendipity Events; makeup by Flawless Face Makeup Artistry, C.A.S. Experience, and Samanda Paz; jewelry by Princess Jewelers LA; a show-stopping cake by Nicole Bakes Cakes; models Fidelia Grace, Tiffany Munoz, and Kayla Lyons; and of course, props and design by Provenance Rentals.
It was nothing short of pure magic working with this skilled team for this spring-inspired shoot. Towering trees, swaying branches, lush grass, and perfect sunlight: a more sublime backdrop couldn't be fabricated. Provenance Rentals created four vignettes to weave the story of rustic romance.
This robin's egg blue desk showcased the three-tiered textured white cake by Nicole Bakes Cakes. Roses by Pure Serendipity Events and a rustic Mr. & Mrs. topper adorned the cake as it perched atop our wooden cake stand. We styled the table with a patinaed lantern, vanity mirrors, an ampersand prop, vintage books, milk glass, lace, a candelabra, and open picture frames. We also hand-crafted a unique "Cake" stencil for the gold vanity mirror; an added service we provide. Design and placement were key to creating a whimsical romantic rustic look.
For the other vignettes, we stacked weathered luggage within the same earthy color family. These pieces have fantastic details: the monogram on the small yellow suitcase, the contrasting trim, stripes, and even an original checked baggage tag tied around the handles of the largest patterned piece of luggage. These clues share a rich history of places they've seen and places they will go. We also styled them with the same vintage books as the cake table, our blue mason jars circa 1930, and flowers designed and place by Pure Serendipity Events to make the decor pop. Additionally, we arranged the rustic ladder display with wooden advertising crates, lace, an old world terrestrial political globe, candles, a handmade tool box, milk glass, a galvanized watering can, and more delicate flowers.
Our tablescape ties in the rustic elements with the round wood slices, a very popular and timeless trend. We also accented the look with ruffled blue milk glass vases, linen napkins, brass candle stick holders in varying heights, mismatched lace, and of course gold flatware. Our favorite element is the suspended open frame backdrop. Provenance Rentals crafts unique backgrounds like this for that added touch.
Finally, we would be remiss to not talk about the bridal garments. Deborah Lindquist creates custom one-of-a-kind gowns that these young women gracefully wore. Her dresses have elegance and movement. The bride's show-stopping gown has a gorgeous fitted bodice with lace trim and a flowing skirt. The bridesmaids donned differing, yet cohesive, dresses that compliment the bride's. The short and sweet empire waist is angelic and breezy. The floor-length sweetheart neckline creates a flattering silhouette for any female form.
It was a perfect day and the finished product tells the story.

Smoke, woods, winter, and romance are the perfect ingredients for this Dark Fairy Tale shoot. The visionary behind this artistic endeavor: Jenn Spain of Rawtography. She dreamed up the idea and assembled a talented team, in addition to finding an engaged couple to authentically share their love story.
Provenance Rentals enthusiastically jumped on board. We provided props, furnishings, and styling. We were ecstatic to do something different; something that has that je ne sais quoi. As much as we love the romantic vintage look, and do we love the feminine shabby chic, we were spellbound and wanted to stretch our muscles to showcase our range. A Dark Fairy Tale was the opportunity to do so.
To illustrate Aurora + Finn's passion, names Mari of Holiday Celebrate Events devised, we staged three distinct vignettes. The first was the sweetheart table, a reloved drop leaf, weathered table from the 1960's, which we adorned with our gold flatware, vintage goblets, custom-made Mr & Mrs signs in brush script calligraphy with a black asphalt-like paint on old barn wood for the chair backs, real antlers, and our brass candlesticks of varying heights and sizes. Provenance Rentals believes that objects are intimately tied to history, beauty, and our identities. We seek unique items to transmit a personal message.
All of this came together because of successful collaboration. For the tablescape, we worked with Burlap & Rose Weddings, Mwokaji Cakery, and Holiday Celebrate Events: professionals at the top of their game. Florals included dahlias, black calla lilies, and all sorts of greenery. The cake was not only showstopping with gold-leaf macarons and pomegranates, it tasted sublime. The stationery was a gothic typeface that was fitting, yet elegant.
Our second design was the crate display. We styled our collection of rustic crates, cow skulls, candelabras, mirrors and vanities, skeleton keys, and antique photo albums (courtesy of Ms. Spain). This vignette was my favorite. Photo albums of our ancestors, mirrors reflecting our dreams and desires, and skeleton keys that unlock the past represents the history of this couple's story. Objects live far longer than people; their meaning retains value. Our history ties us to our present and future. Without their past, this couple may not be embracing each other today.
Finally, the piece de resistance was the smoke canister. Ms. Spain made a bold and clever choice. The rich colors transport the viewer into an ethereal world. It's moody and magical. Provenance Rentals installed large and small mirrors on a dramatic tree. Ms. Spain captured Aurora + Finn's glowing reflections amidst the smoke with her photographic skill. These shots displayed the gorgeous eco-friendly black bridal gown and headpiece by Deborah Lindquist, a dapper tuxedo by The Black Tux, jewelry by Princess Jewelers, LA, and the stunning hair and makeup by Diana Campos and The Heart of Makeup.
It was such an enchanting shoot, and successful due to teamwork and creativity. We were lucky to be part of this collaboration, and looking to working with these industry professionals in the future.

All because two people fell in love...
I had the pleasure of meeting Stefanie & Anthony over a year ago. It was happenstance that this lovely couple entered my life. In the infancy of forming my business, I was shedding some pieces from my vintage collection. As luck would have it, she was in the market for classic items for her wedding the following year: a true planner and thinker.
Stefanie and Anthony have much in common, but one of their most important shared interests is their profound desire to explore the world. Stefanie, a native Californian, is fortunate to have lived in cosmopolitan cities in the U.S., while Anthony, a bit more exotic, hails from many miles away: South Africa. Being from opposite ends of the world and to then meet and fall in love is nothing short of magic. The perfect pair have traveled extensively together, which in turn has deepened their bond and love for one another. It is no wonder what they chose the theme of their wedding to be travel.
Stefanie envisioned the wedding with a vintage style decorated with gold and pink colors. I was ecstatic she hired me to decorate. With a discerning eye, she selected some of the best props in our inventory including an array of vintage luggage, old world globes, cameras, a steamer trunk, travel journals, and an ornate mirror adorned with a customized stencil of their relationship milestones.

The pair wed before family and friends at Eden Gardens in Moorpark. I loved styling several vignettes at this venue. In the garden where guests congregated for cocktail hour, I installed our Lilly ornate mirror which was stenciled with the couple's relationship milestones. The stencil was a mix of calligraphy and sans serif fonts providing details about their story.
In this same space, I also styled the globe signing table. Atop the table sat travel magazines of places they've visited together, along with our vintage cameras in their cases to give that old world charm. Walteria florists were also gracious enough to have extra flowers on hand, which I delicately wove around Provenance Rentals vignettes. Instinctively, I added greenery and pink roses; it added a softer touch. Also at the bride's request, I arranged personal objects such as world map paper crafted flowers, signage, runners, and more. This level of detail was important to them, and I was excited to execute their vision.
The night concluded with toasts, dinner, and dancing, and the blissful couple left the party ready to embark on their next journey together as a husband and wife. We are so happy and excited for you both! We're looking forward to learning more about their lives together as they unfold.

The success of this photoshoot is credited to the tireless efforts and collaboration of several wedding industry professionals. It was evident that talent and expertise were the common themes in this gorgeous vintage shoot. I was extremely lucky Katie Kreations Events approached Provenance Rentals to participate in the styled shoot. Aisha organized the event from start to finish; including cherry-picking from our vintage rental inventory, securing a venue, finding a model, a calligrapher, a baker, hair and makeup artists, catering, florals, wedding gowns, jewelry, and of course an extremely patient and meticulous photographer.
All the details came together on this hot August morning. The beautiful York Manor in Los Angeles graciously allowed us to flex our creative muscles. With tricky outdoor lighting, Vagary Photo Co. captured romantic and stylish images of the bride along with items from the Provenance Rentals' collection. I was ecstatic that I was able to use some new small elements in the shoot that I scored including lace, hardcover books, and a petite oval mirror. Provenance Rentals pieces are uniquely and authentically vintage. Styling these old-world classical props tells a client's story and results in polished photographs. It also brings me endless joy.
In addition to the recent finds photographed, I also used our Bronwyn Arm Chair, the Sawyer Wooden Ladder, Amy Novels, Jane Classic Novels, Oria Gold Flatware, Alicia Cake Stand, Lucinda Open Picture Frames, and last but not least one of our most popular items: the Woodstock Typewriter.
It was such a pleasure to work with such a talented team. Looking forward to collaborating in the future. xo, Anna
